Borussia Dortmund has increased their contract offer for striker Youssoufa Mukoko to stop him from leaving on a free transfer. 90min understands.

Dortmund, the 18-year-old, is in the final six-months of his deal. Dortmund had been struggling to negotiate and Dortmund offered hope to his long list of suitors. Dortmund could still be able to offer one of the best young talents in the game for a bargain price.

Moukoko has attracted the attention of Chelsea, Newcastle United and Barcelona. A switch to Camp Nou is believed to be Moukoko’s preferred move if the striker leaves Germany in 2023.

Sources have confirmed that 90min Dortmund has submitted a renewed offer at Moukoko after receiving several rejections.

While an agreement has not yet been struck, Dortmund are optimistic their latest proposal, around €10m per year including bonuses, is enough to get the job done.

Patrick Williams is Moukoko’s advisor and is currently in Spain for talks with Dortmund at their warm weather training camp. Williams and Hans-Joachim Watzke, the club chiefs, are in talks to try and reach an agreement.

Dortmund are keen to ensure Moukoko’s success before they leave Spain. They will be playing Basel in their final friendly before they return home.
